- well, you can't win em' all

i'm just going to use this site to vent and/or share with my friends.

for fuck's sake, i'm a receptionist with a boss who offers such criticisms as, "you're coming off cold, not shy..."
thus supplying me with the perfect amount of irritation, cynicism, urgency and boredom so why not just call my blog:

COLD, NOT SHY

well, you can’t win em’ all

while i am immensely excited about the near future in this country,

(ain’t he cute)

i’m SO disappointed in the part of humanity that voted Yes on Prop 8 in california. i just don’t understand why anyone cares about who somone they don’t even know wants to marry. moreso, i don’t understand why anyone would want to deliberately take someone else’s civil rights away. it was just really sad to hear that legally two of my closest friends, stacy and heidi, weren’t married anymore. they had the most beautiful and touching weddings i’ve ever had the honor of being a part of. more than that, they have one of the strongest and healthiest relationships i’ve ever seen bloom before my eyes.

***ADDENDUM***

apparently i was wrong in saying that stacy and heidi’s marriage is invalid (even though i didn’t say that at all…

here is snippet of our conversation:

sl: well, our marriage is still valid— they haven’t made any decisions yet!
and it is going to be a big legal eff all for awhile— who do we veto, what do we take away etc.

dc: okay, well, i guess i’ll change it then to a “limbo” status

sl: lol yeah, you can say, that we are in limbo about our rights, and even if our license isn’t retoractively “revoked” it will be a hard legal battle to get the same rights in an emergency—

sl: like if I am in the hospital, heidi will have to go get our license and come back to make decions, it isn’t taken for face value that she is my family
also, i will still have to adopt our kids after she has them, because marriage rights won’t be universally recognized
it will be very confusing and frustrating
